West Harlem Pop Ups bring customers and business owners together for demos, samples, giveaways, hands-on activities, and neighborhood fun across West Harlem. Organized by the Hamilton Heights Business Alliance, the series creates time for local owners to step outside the rush of the workday, spend time with customers, share what they offer, and connect with the neighborhood in a more personal way.
Pop Ups are happening across the neighborhood from 135th to 155th, including Broadway on July 9 and Amsterdam Avenue on July 13. Depending on the day, Pop Ups will last 30 to 45 minutes per business, then move along to the next stop for another local experience of giveaways, conversations, and samples. The first 10 neighbors to stop by a Pop Up will receive a free Hamilton Heights Business Alliance reusable tote bag.
Urban Nature Day at the Broadway Malls will feature hands-on activities from Forever Florals, Harlem Studio Playground, and the Broadway Malls team, with crafts, lessons, samples, and creative ways to celebrate pollinators, native flowers, wellness, urban green space, and green things to make, learn, and take home.
Participating businesses and partners include BroSis Green Youth Market, Botanical Moment, Romantic Depot, Photo Sol, Harlem Cigar, Jarro Frozen Yogurt, La Maravilla Billiards & Bar, Bliss Beauty, Smile Crafters, Avrilililly’s Gelato, Printing Depot, Forever Florals, Harlem Studio Playground, and the Broadway Malls team.
As one local owner said, “I love doing sidewalk promotions. But this is better doing it the same day as everyone else.” The special mobile kiosk is courtesy of Street Lab by way of FAB Fulton, a Brooklyn-based business alliance.
