Teachers & Schools Campaign Connects Businesses and Schools
This winter, the Hamilton Heights Business Alliance launched its Teachers & Schools promotional campaign, connecting 16+ West Harlem businesses with the 18 local K–12 schools that employ an estimated 800 teachers and staff.
Members have stepped forward with generous, educator-focused offers.
At Cohen’s Fashion Optical (3525 Broadway), union and non-union school employees receive a $100 discount on eyewear plus 20% off a second pair. At Crispin’s, a special teachers’ menu features $5, $10, and $14 options, including a glass of Barbera paired with Italian favorites like eggplant rollatini or meatballs.
Across the neighborhood, participating businesses are recognizing the essential role schools play in supporting families, while introducing educators to the range of local establishments.
Founded in 2025 by a mix of longstanding and newer locally-owned businesses, the Alliance continues to build coordinated initiatives that strengthen relationships and create opportunity. With organizing leadership from Harlem One Stop, which secured NYC SBS funding to establish the Alliance, members have already collaborated on the West Harlem Festival of Food, Harlem Culture Crawl, and the West Harlem Coupon Book.
The Teachers & Schools campaign builds on that momentum, strengthening business–school connections today and laying groundwork for partnerships with other institutions.
